What is DotAzilla?¶
DotAzilla is Dota-League's very own DotA helper tool, designed to enhance the user's playing experience by providing useful features and allowing advanced statistics generation.
DotAzilla is designed to be as easy as possible, just start it and forget it, it will discover Warcraft and SIGs automatically, no need for you to do anything. It can auto start Warcraft if you wish, so no extra click needed. It automatically updates itself, so you always have the latest features and improvements with you. It is unobtrusive, it will reside only as a tray icon most of the time and it uses almost no system resources, to not impact your playing experience besides its helping features.
Supported and tested platforms: Windows 2000/XP/Vista/7
Please read the included manual before first use. Vista users do not forget to start both WC3 and DZ with admin rights (best way is to start DZ and use its WC3 loader).
If you encounter bugs or errors, please report them here: Bug reports
You can leave feedback and suggestions here: DotAzilla forum
DotAzilla is multilingual! An example English language file is included. If you have translated DotAzilla to your language, please share it with us, so we can include it next update. See here: Share your translations with us!
DotAzilla News¶

- DotAzilla 1.0 released (03.06.09)
What does DotAzilla do exactly?¶
- transmits statistics of Single Instant Games (SIGs) to Dota-League when game ends
- checks for correct teams in SIGs and automatically prints game mode at game start
- keeps track of forfeits in SIGs
- reduces latency to a custom value, e.g. 100ms (LAN), latency can be changed ingame
- automatically prints DotA user commands and a custom message at game start
- locks your mouse when you play in window mode (so you are able to scroll - a hotkey is definable)
- customizes Warcraft's behaviour, e.g. removes game start countdown
- rehosts games in the lobby without dropping players, e.g. let your friends join in a private game and then rehost public
- allows you to block your windows keys while ingame
- allows you to convert your Warcraft III screenshots automatically to JPG's
- allows you to convert your old replays to the recent Warcraft version and make them smaller
How does DotAzilla work?¶
DotAzilla searches for Warcraft III every few seconds and attaches itself to it automatically when found. Just start DotAzilla and Warcraft, no additional actions to be taken, starting order is not important. Just join a game and DotAzilla does the rest. You should take a look at the settings screen however and change it to fit your needs.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)¶
- How do I host a game with DotAzilla? / The hosting commands do not work for me. You do not need to use a specific command to host with DotAzilla. Just host a normal Battle.net game, DotAzilla will reduce the latency automatically. The hosting commands /pubrehost and /privrehost are ONLY for rehosting games when you already have a game open and chances are you will never need them at all.
- I cannot host games anymore when using DotAzilla, it worked before! DotAzilla does not prevent you from hosting, it just changes latency of Battle.net games. However, if you used Listchecker before, chances are you are forwarding the wrong port in your router settings as Listchecker changes Warcraft's default port and acts as a proxy to it. Check that the port in Warcraft's game settings matches the port your router is forwarding and adjust it if needed.
- My game just Finished, how can I submit statistics now? Statistics are transmitted automatically at the end of the game, you do not have to do anything!
- My hotkey tool does not work when I use DotAzilla! This may be due to the fact that you have to start DotAzilla and Warcraft with admin rights on Vista. Solutions: 1) Run your hotkey tool with admin rights, too. 2) Disable Vista's User Account Control (UAC) (not recommended)
- Where can I find the ingame commands? / What does setting xyz mean? Please have a look at the included manual file, you will find detailed explanations there.
