Last but not least, we present you the fourth team of the Dota-League Cup semifinals: I Got Game(IGG)! After they disbanded some time ago, we talked with Broesly about their current situation!
1. The Rebirth
We recently had to hear that the major part of IGG left the team. Can you tell us some more details about the disbandment?
Broesly: Well I observed some lack of motivation in the last month before the team and I parted ways. After losing the EDC AT game to nordic.e-sports the team decided that DotA is not a game they want to play competitively and I understood. You can't force someone to play if they don't have enough passion anymore.I am very sad to see the team leave, I had real high hopes for them.
Are you now planning to gather new players for IGG?
Broesly: I was already building a team before IGG disbanded but not to replace them, our plans at IGG was to have two competitive teams playing in Europe. IGG.int is not yet ready, we are finishing our roster this month. The new team will have big shoes to fill, but I have the utmoast confidence in them. IGG is looking for a main team right now. Feel free to contact me if you think you got game!
Which players will finish the Dota-League Cup?
The old IGG players decided to finish what they started, this and the final (if they make it) will be their last games wearing the IGG tag. Players are Elf[c], legendary, Warning, Shef, Reborn.
What are your expectations with this new, fresh team for 2010? Did you sign up for our Pick-League?
Broesly: Of course we did, there is no competition that we want to miss, playing againts high skilled teams gives us the experience we need to persevere. We also want to have our main team back again, hopefully some oportunities to be back in the top 15 in Europe.
2. Let's get some more personal
If you compare the old IGG with the new IGG, how do they differ concerning skill and atmosphere?
Broesly: The old IGG were very skilled individually but lacked communication in game. They were all friends in real life most of them have known each other for years. As the name states, IGG.int is a multinational and multicultural team, players coming from Serbia, Hungary, Romania and Croatia. They are very young and not as skilled as the veterans at the old IGG, but their motivation and will make up for it.
DL: How do you guys know each other? Have you met in real life or online? (the new team)
Broesly: I knew Maska and HariboH from back in the days when we used to play pubs together. I remained at the pub level while they sought to be more professional in this e-sport. HariboH is my personal protege, he is very skilled for a 14 year old.
3. Now let's talk a bit about Dota in general and the competitive scene
Recently Icefrog changed Visage and Doom. What do you think of those remakes considering competitive dota?
Broesly: Doom is a very interesting hero to play now, he has many more skills now that he can "devour" skills too. I`m very curious if he`ll be used in the competitive scene too. I think Visage is an asian hero now, with all the micro you need for him, it's hard to control him/items/gargoyles. I dont see him being used competitively too.
What do you think about the Dota clones, such as League of Legends or Heroes of Newerth. Will they be a real problem for the Dota scene?
Broesly: I never tried playing LoL but the few times I did play HoN I was annoyed by the terrain they use in it. I dont think it has enough dept. Competition is never a bad thing!
Icefrog is currently working on a 'new DotA' together with Valve. What are your expectations on this project?
Broesly: I have a lot of confidence in IceFrog, he has been updating the map for the last few years and has done a wonderful job with it. The standalone DotA will be a success if it has the IceFrog stamp on it.
4. Let's come to Dota-League and especially to the Dota-League Cup
How did you enjoy our very first edition of the Dota-League Cup?
Broesly: There have been a few complications, especially with the teams wanting to play on Bnet but all in all it was a great experience for us all. We have met some exciting people trough this tournament and improved ourselves by playing againts them.
What where your expectations, when you signed up for this event? Did you think that you can make it that far?
Broesly: Our objectives from the start was to win it, funny thing is our hardest games were againts the teams we underestimated. In the end I`m glad it's us in the semifinal.
How do you like the other stuff presented by Dota-Leauge, such as Pick League, Farm4Fame, news coverage and of course the SIG/VIP?
Broesly: I never played SIG/VIP, i prefer league games and pubs. Pick-League is a very important compeititon to european DotA, I always think of it as Premier League from England and F4F has been disapointing for me this last season due to to many drop-outs and team-changes. DotA lacks maturity and organization.
5. And where is the fun?
Imagine, you and your clan would rule a country. Who would be in which position? (president, foreign minister and so on)
Broesly: legendary would be the president, he has a commanding presence everywhere. Elf[c] would be the Health and Sports minister as he's always working out and he's really BUFF!. Warning is the perfect candidate for international relations, he always knows how to communicate his thoughts. Shef would be treasurer as he's always farming ingame and Reborn is our secretary of defence as he's always the first to defend a tower. I am the spokesperson for the country!

The semifinals of the Dota-League Cup took place yesterday, but still we want to present you the 2 other clans of the final four. After giving WFP and DRZ the opportunity to show themselves, we proudly present another stunning team: Umbrella.Inc. We met maarGee and noertti of Umbrella.Inc(UBLI) and talked with them about the Cup and their expectations, their clan history and animals! Check it out!
1. The beginning of the clan and your future goals.
First, please tell us about your first steps with UBLI. When and why did you create the clan?
maarGee: It was in the middle of last pick-league season. I was playing with FDA that time in division 2 and we really did bad, so Spere and Obliterator (former leaders of FDA) decided to quit competetive DotA. The next day I remember they asked me if i want to take FDA for myself and recruit new players and maybe try to do something with it. First I contacted Matkatavara who has been playing with me since battle.net, then we tried to ask around some highskilled finnish dota players. I think first when we asked lapiz to join he wasn't really that interested in it, since we had already taken some players under consideration which he didn't really like. Few days after, Matkatavara told me he had recruited noertti and Gazhag which really opened lapiz's mind about the team. Then we were me, lapiz, matkatavara, noertti and Gazhag. I think it was lapiz or Matkatavara who recruited 6th player named Huutopussi, who retired from DotA after a while. Our first pick-league match was a flop, since it was our first match as a team, but after that we really started playing a lot more and had some good games, so we decided to continue playing as a team and here we are, still rockin'!
And why did you chose the name "Umbrella"? Did you all like Rihanna or cause it is so rainy in Finland? Whose idea was it?
maarGee: It was mine, my brothers and our friend's (ReVeller's) first battle.net clan and we lacked a name so i decided to go for Umbrella Inc / UBLI. :) And i think originally it's from Resident Evil.
Are you planning to participate in our upcoming Pick League season? If yes, what are your goals in this competition?
maarGee: Yes we are going to participate all future online tournaments / leagues including Pick-League. As for the Pick-League our goal is to rock div2 and get a slot from div1 for next season.
2. Let`s get some more personal.
Tell us, why each of your team members are important for your team's success, considering both, skill level and creating atmosphere!
maarGee: All i could really say is that every member is very important skillwise and as a person. I don't think UBLI would be the same if someone of us decides to leave the team.
Then describe each of your team members in a few words!
maarGee: Matkatavara - Hippie mushroomhead who comes up with some hc tactics in DotA.
lapiz - Pro floorball player who gets laid 5 times a week.
Gazhag - Wins his parents in karting every time... (Even his SISTER!)
noertti - Chill Quake and SF3 pro.
BimBam - Serious business
noertti: maarGee - weird angry man who eats sausage with his bread
What is your personal relationship within the clan? Do you know each other from real life or where have you met?
maarGee: I met with Matkatavara in battle.net and the others in #dota.fi playing inhouses with finnish people. I think when I became admin me and noertti got a little closer since he was constantly telling me I'm bad admin. I think no one of us knows each other in real life. Though lapiz and BimBam are planning to meet (can only imagine what's going to happen).
3. Now let`s talk a bit about Dota in general and the competitive scene.
Which heroes do you think are imbalanced at the moment, which ones have to be improved?
noertti: Dunno I love weaver, but not too strong. Probably there are no overpowered heroes in dota atm.
maarGee: Yes, I would say there's no overpowered heroes at the moment, atleast for us. Icefrog could buff Barathrum and Techies at least !
What kind of item are you looking for in upcoming versions? Do you have any ideas?
noertti: Something that uses Hand of Midas to make it, can't think of anything awesome now.
maarGee: Yes, hand of midas buff or just some item which you need hand of midas for. That would be the only one.
Where do you think (or hope) the competitive scene is going to, considering the recent changes? Ganking or farming?
maarGee: Ganking, of course! That's what we hope, at least. Also im looking forward what Icefrog can do with Valve supporting him.
4. Let`s come to Dota-League and especially to the Dota-League Cup.
Please, share your thoughts about our very first edition of the Dota-League Cup.
noertti: It's great, a good chance to play against strong teams. I'm a bit sad about great teams like DIPS and Pandemic being disqualified for weird reasons though.
maarGee: It has been very fun to get a chance to play a tournament wich has potential to give smaller / unknown teams chance to shine in the spotlight. Though i would have appriciated a bit faster action from admins since the tournament schedule seemed so strict at the start of the cup. (Of course i don't know if there's some internal problems and such, but this is just my "bad" feedback about the tournament).
Did you expect to get into the semifinals at the beginning of the Cup? If not, what were your expectations?
maarGee: Since we managed to beat some good teams in Dota pride tournament and managed to reach Quarter finals where we got beaten by Blight.usa, it was expected that we are going to do well in this tournament. Our scrimming has showed some good results, too!
noertti: Yes we did expect to get to semifinals, as we EVEN made it to the quarter-finals of dota-pride. Now we think... WE THINK WE WILL WIN THIS.
In our next edition of the Dota League Cup, would you prefer to include also the "bigger" teams or is it fine as it is in this edition?
noertti: Well, if the bigger teams are there, our chances of winning precious headsets are a lot smaller. So... stay away, big guys, those headsets are mine.
maarGee: Hmm... Well personally I would like to add bigger teams in to the Cup since its always fun to compete versus them, but if i think about the bigger picture, DLcup could be a chance for smaller teams to get some "fame". So yes and no.. But personally yes !
How do you like Dota-League and its offers in general? Do you and your clan mates play SIG/VIP?
noertti: Matkatavara is a big fan of VIP SIGs. Other than that, no. I guess DL is the most important DotA site at the moment, with Pick-League being awesum, Farm4Fame being awesome and SIGS/VIPS being... a good way to play some midskilled dota, i guess.
maarGee: I think Matkatavara is the only one who is playing sigs in daily basis. As for me, i only play if some friends ask me to play with them or just sometimes for fun. As for Farm4Fame i would like them to have some qualifications for smallers teams like us to participate. But this i can say: Without Dota-League i dont know what DotA would be, propably nothing ! So thanks for DL for making such a huge impact for DotA fans and players.
5. And where is the fun?
What if all humans died and became an animal instead, could you say which animal every person of your team would be?
maarGee: Lapiz would be a dog since he's cool and athletic, Matkatavara would be a bambi since he obviously likes nature. Gazhag would be a koala since he is always late and slow. BimBam would be a bat since hes always serious and I think that bats are serious!
Bats are serious?
maarGee: They drink blood. It's serious business. maarGee would be a rhino since he is aggressive and big. noertti would be a hippo, happy but can be very dangerous and angry if provoked.

We hope you enjoyed reading the prior interview about WFP as much as we did. Let's continue with another new but interesting team which survived up till now. We proudly present you an interview with the brand new team around its captain RMx: Druidz(DRz).
1. The beginning of the clan and your future goals.
At first, We are intrested in how, why and when your clan exactly was been made, in case you still remember it?
RMx: First time I was in contact with Druidz was together with Unpapayacoconut and a few other players from Sweden during spring 2009. We won an offline event called HeavenHack that was located in Göteborg, Sweden. After this event people started to go more and more inactive due to the upcoming summer weather. This led to disbanding the clan. In Autumn 2009, we started to make different clans together that led to several disbandings, but at the end we managed to merge my clan together with the old fKz/Pump team, following the players of RMx, Reesion, Wagamama, Mini and Dannej. Having some troubles to get a full team to scrim, we started to play with the players from Rainbowninjas, Annell and Panterspot. Their teams were pretty much inactive. The games were going very well with them, so we all agreed to recruit them and so far it has only been awesome. I have allways been a very close friend to Unpapayacoconut and after few scrims with him, I managed to get him into our team as well. So nowadays we are 8 players that are heading to many offline events and playing all the online cups we can find.
You told us you played under the tag Druidz before. The team that you used to play with those days, does it still look equally to the team Druidz you play with those days? And what about the skill level, has it changed a lot in this period?
RMx: It's really not the same. My current team has shown me once again how much fun dota really it is. They are absolutely the best guys you can ever play with. Everyone is so nice and got this amazing personalities that you just love, we become more like a big family every day. This new team of druidz.dota is alot better because we got such good teamplay and it's only getting better every day, atm it's only the details that we need to improve to become a much stronger team. This time we got so many people around who believe in us and are ready to support us, like Phanny, who is getting a co-partner in the management department, ReageN (he will be helping out soon) and the main druidz-manager Shades. The former team of Druidz can't even be compared with the current one because it's so much better and amazing in every aspect of people relationships and ingame quality.
So after a lot of roster changes, we guess you are hoping to achieve something in the DotA world. What are your goals for 2010 at this moment?
RMx: We want to sign up our team in all the major leagues and cups including several Swedish offline events like Dreamhack and Hazard. Our goal is nothing less then top3 in all events and we aim for ESWC.
2. Let's get some more personal.
You told us you play with Unpapayacoconut already for a long time. How is your relation with him, do you know him in real life as well?
RMx: Unpapayacoconut is an incredible player that I really love, He is so funny and make me enjoy gaming so much more. We sat next to each other during dreamhack winter 2008 and heavenhack 2009. We are TIGHT<3.
You mentioned the addition of PHaNNy as manager earlier. How do you know each other?
RMx: We took contact with each other when Wagamama (they are old clan mates) was forming a team together with me. We all really enjoy PHaNNy in every way, so it was an obvious choice that he would take a part in our team. He is a real good friend and we trust in him to make us become a better team.

3. Now let's talk a bit about Dota in general and the competitive scene.
Do you think the new version (6.66 and 6.66b) has changed competetive DotA in any way?
RMx: There have been major changes in the new version and it seems like a lot of teams dare to pick much more wider than in previous versions. I really don't like that so many heroes are blocked. And I hope that IceFrog will release a stable new version soon so we can start enjoying those heroes also in captain drafts. I felt we were unbeatable in the old version but time moves forward and we have to adapt. We have been trying alot of experimental tactics and most of them have been really good, hope to play them in a major event.
You mentioned "blocked" heroes. Which heroes exactly are you talking about? Are those too imba right now?
RMx: Alchemist, Gondar and the new heroes are Ancient and Slark are really strong and might be unbalanced but I'd love to see them in serious games, it would really open up more eyes to watch replays because it's so new and fresh.
Could you imagine another game mode than -cm in clan wars?
RMx: Yes. I would like to see -ardm in a cup, it's a really funny mode and a different aspect of skills on dota players.
4. Let's come to Dota-League and especially to the Dota-League Cup.
What do you think of our very first edition of the Dota-League Cup ?
RMx: It's always fun with cups and who then can resist to sign up when dota-league itsself is hosting one? I hope to see and play many more cups at dota-league.
That's nice to hear. What do you think of the idea that top teams are excluded? Should those teams play in upcoming cups?
RMx: This is a good way to find and see new teams that want to climb to the top. I feel that this cup have been really fun and hope that the next one will be exactly the same, might be my team that gets excluded next time.
How did you came across DotA-League.com, and how do you like the current things we provide?
RMx: I started enjoying dota from regular battle.net games and the next step was dota-league SIG. My opinion is that dota-league is the center of all dota! I love everything dota-league provides, even at the times I recive lame pps. I hope that in the future we can see more prize money within the league so people and teams really will get interested and competetive.

The holidays are over and thus it's time to restore the Dota-League Cup to normality. Only a fraction of the total 512 teams who participated in this very first cup are still in the race as we reach the quarter-finals:

You will have time to play until the 17th January at 23:59 CET. In case you can't agree on any other time we chose Sunday, 17th January at 19:00 League Time as default date.

For this round we please all of the participants to contact an admin either via personal message on the website or irc at least a day before the match actually takes part in order to have a live stream of the game. Right after a match has been played out you have to submit the result in the dedicated thread.
After five rounds already the line-up of participants of the very first Dota-League Cup is down to the last sixteen and dawns to it's end. The eighth finals have been reached and we've seperated the wheat from the chaff! This time we decided to give you ten days again so you can spend the holidays with your family.

After four exciting rounds already 480 teams have been dismissed from the very first Dota-League Cup, thus only 32 teams remain for round 5 and 16 games await us within the following seven days. You read right, the timeframe will be one week again. As default date and time 20th December at 19:00 has been chosen.

As usual you should contact your opponent as soon as possible in order to guarantee a well-regulated progression of the last tournament rounds. As stated above all games of this round have to be played until Sunday, 20th December at 23:59 League Time and the results, containing evidence and the team names, have to be reported in this thread.

The very first Dota-League Cup is entering it's exciting phase as round 4 is about to start! From 512 only about 64 teams are still in the race for the Dota-League Cup crown and thus we can look forward to some exciting matches as they will give each other a run for a place on the podium. Now the cup has already been running for 27 days and as in the third round we set the timeframe to play the fourth match to seven days until the Sunday, 13th December.

As always the default date for those who can't agree will be the last possible one which means it's Sunday, 13th December at 19:00 CET and right after the match the results have to be reported in the specific forum thread with a replay as proof.

Two rounds are over, six are still to be received of the very first Dota-League Cup where an amazing amount of 512 teams fight for the crown. After 20 days of constant progress it's time for the third round and as we all know third time is a charm. Due to the decreased amount of teams who are still in the race the timeframe for this round will be only seven days!

The default time to play the matches in case you can't agree on a time will be the Sunday, 6th December at 19:00 CET. As always the winner of an encounter has to report the result and upload the replay in a specific thread in our forums. In order to stay in touch with other teams and of course our cup admins just join the irc channel #dota-league.cup.

Round 1 is over and we are glad to tell that the very first Dota-League Cup had a flawless start. There are still 243 teams in the race and now the time for them to fight in the second round has come. As in the past one you will have, starting today, ten days to contact your opponent and arrange a date to play within this time-frame:

The default time for all teams to play the game will be Sunday, 29. November 2009 at 19:00 CET. Please note that you only have to play at that time when both teams can't agree on any other. As before you should join our irc channel #dota-league.cup in order to get in touch with the admins and other teams.
After your match has been played out the winner team has to submit the result and replay in this thread. In case there is no replay due to a reload you need to add a screenshot.
In large part the matches of round 1 of the Dota-League Cup have already been played and tonight, exactly at 23:59 League Time, we will close the result report thread and all matches that have neither been played out nor submitted as default win with a legit reason which has been accepted by an admin will be closed down and according to rule 2.1 the outcome will be randomly decided by a cointoss:
2.1 The time windows to schedule and play the matches will be found on the 'Grid' page. The teams have to get in contact with each other themselves to find a fitting time and date for both of them. If teams cannot agree about a date to play the match, the default date has to be used. Default date to play the matches is always the last day of the time window at 19.00 league time (CEST / CET). If the teams cannot find a date fitting for both of them and one or both are not able to have five players ready on default date the team not ready to play gets a default loss. In case both teams don't show up at the default date a cointoss will decide who of them will advance.
With an amazing amount of 512 paritipating teams the first Dota-League Cup kicked-off on the past Sunday. As announced you have overall ten days to play your match of the first round. Now three days already passed so it's one week until we close the result thread of the first round on the 18th November at 23:59 League time.
So in case you did not contact your opponent yet it's now time to do so. Check out the irc channel #dota-league.cup on the Quakenet and if you can't find them there try to get in touch by sending a personal message to the contact person which you can find on the teams page. In order to find your enemy fast you should use the search function of your browser.
Also we would like to remind you that red marked player are NOT allowed to play any matches of the Dota-league Cup, while the orange marked members of a clan can of course participate. We wish you best of luck and a lot of fun.
